Retainer Options Designed for You
Just as every treatment plan is unique, every retention plan is too. We will work with you to choose the best option to maintain your beautiful results, whether you wore metal braces or Invisalign® aligners.
Clear Retainers
Many of our patients love clear retainers, like custom Vivera™ retainers, because they are discreet, comfortable, and easy to wear. These thin, transparent trays are custom-made to fit your smile perfectly. They are a popular choice because they are nearly invisible, allowing you to maintain your results without anyone even noticing. Just remember to give them a gentle brush whenever you take them out or put them back in.
Removable Hawley Retainers
The Hawley retainer is a classic, time-tested option. It consists of a durable acrylic base molded to fit your mouth, paired with a custom-fitted metal wire that gently keeps your teeth in their final position. They are sturdy, effective, and easy to take out when needed. As with any removable appliance, keeping them clean with a quick brush keeps your smile feeling fresh.
Bonded Retainers
On rare occasions, we may use a bonded or "fixed" retainer where we attach a small, inconspicuous wire to the back of your front teeth. This means that the retainer stays in place permanently, and is not removable like other retainers.
Lifetime Retainers Plan
Any of these retainers can wear out, crack, or get lost over time. The Lifetime Retainers plan keeps your retainers covered without the high cost of replacement sets. You pay a program fee over the course of treatment, and if your retainer becomes lost or damaged, you pay a small copay instead of full replacement costs.

I sought out a new orthodontist because the original one I used wanted to charge me an exorbitant amount to redo my retainers and I went through Wheaton orthodontics and found them to be a wonderful office to work with. I can't say enough about how friendly they have a labrador dog in the office that make sure that everybody's calm and relaxed and it's really a nice atmosphere very nice.
